I have a large plant and I'm not sure about the scope. Will your solution suit my needs?

Tango XN probes have a range of 200m in the open and our mobile base station can be installed anywhere outdoors. If you choose the ethernet base station but your office is more than 200m from the probes, don’t worry, you can extend the communication distance with our signal repeaters. Our consultants are here to help you find the best solution for your plant.

Do we have enough long-term data on the use of Periskop?

Periskop by Quanturi has been equipping composting plants and key industry players throughout Europe for almost six years. So we have all the experience we need to know that Periskop works and is the best temperature measurement solution on the market today (it’s our customers, not us, who say so!)

What is the purpose of the base station?

The base station plays an important role in the Periskop solution. It is the middleman between your temperature measurement probes and your monitoring application. It allows you to transfer the data collected at your plant to the cloud, so that you can transfer it to your smartphone.

Is Periskop really better than a thermal camera?

Thanks to its long robust probes of 100 cm or 200 cm (depending on temperature measurement requirements set by authorities), Periskop is able to measure the temperature at the very heart of your windrows. Unlike a traditional thermal camera, Periskop prevents smoldering fires and keeps fire hazards away from your operations.

What types of waste is Periskop designed for?

Tango XN probes are designed to withstand the most extreme locations: compost, recyclable waste, sludge, peat, ash… and other fermentable materials. They are perfectly suited to the Periskop solution. They can withstand both open windrows and closed composting processes.

How does Periskop meet standards imposed by control authorities?

Regulatory standards are getting more and more stringent every year. Periskop is the solution designed to ensure your production processes comply under all circumstances. With regular updates and a number of different temperature management tools – real-time temperature measurement, traceability reports, temperature history, real-time alerts, etc. – you have all the information you need to meet these requirements.

What standards does Periskop meet?

Periskop’s many different features offering better traceability enable you to meet ISO 9001 quality standards and comply with the environmental criteria imposed by control authorities to certify your production processes.

Do you come on site to install the equipment?

Our system was designed to be Plug and Play. Simply create an account, plug in the base station and position the probes. If you do need help, a consultant will guide you.

Can the system be used in any geographical area?

Absolutely. We cover all regions from Europe to Oceania, including North America and even Tahiti and Mayotte.

Our application

Can I export the data in excel format?

With Periskop you can export all the data collected and the different analyses (temperature history, traceability report, etc.) in CSV format. This data can be used with most management systems.

What is the maximum distance between the base station and the probes?

Tango XN probes have a range of 200m in the open and our mobile base station can be installed anywhere outdoors. If you choose the ethernet base station but your office is more than 200m from the probes, don’t worry, you can extend the communication distance with our signal repeaters. Our consultants are here to help you find the best solution for your plant.

How do I access the temperature monitoring application?

Periskop’s ultra-intuitive application is available from the web address https://quanturi.app and can be accessed at any time from any device such as your smartphone, computer, or tablet.

Can several people log in to the same account?

We think it is important for your employees to be able to access your temperature measurement data. So we have made it possible for several people to log in to the same account, thus minimizing your response times in the event of a fire outbreak.

Can I locate my probes from the application?

The Periskop application enables you to create an accurate model of the position of your windrows at your plant, providing an overall view of your operations. You can view the position of each of your Tango XN probes in your different compost storage areas.

Can I customize the alert levels according to the probes and the processes to which they are linked?

Yes, the settings provided by your Periskop application enable you to manage each of your probes individually and customize your alert settings according to the process they are located in.

Can you train me to use the application?

If necessary, a consultant will guide you as you install and use the system. We also have video tutorials available.

Are your probes guaranteed?

All our probes are available with a service contract that includes the maintenance of your probes during their entire life cycle, their replacement and their recycling. You are guaranteed a functional system at all times.

How often do Periskop probes measure the temperature?

Periskop measures the temperature of your windrows once an hour: the ideal frequency to monitor the temperature of your windrows in real time.

Can I put Periskop probes in liquid?

Our probes are made of stainless steel to withstand all types of corrosive material. If your production process involves liquid, there will be no problem using our solution. However, the probe handle is not as resistant, so you must position it correctly to ensure it works well.

Are the probes easy to install in windrows?

Yes, Tango XN probes have long, beveled stems designed to ensure quick, snag-free installation in your windrows.

How often should I consider changing my probes?

Periskop’s Tango XN probes are expected to withstand approximately three years of intensive use in corrosive environments. According to our customers, they are the most robust probes they have tested to date.

What probe length should I choose?

Periskop probes are 100 or 200 centimeters long. To choose the type of probe you want for your operations, it is important to take into account three factors: the height of your windrows, the legislation in force in your country, and the depth at which you want to measure the temperature of your compost.

What materials are used in Periskop probes?

Tango XN probes are essentially made of stainless steel specially treated to withstand intensive use in corrosive environments for a long time.

Is it possible to read the temperature directly on the Periskop probes?

To make our probes as sturdy as possible and maximize their life span, we chose not to display the temperature directly on our Tango XN probes. However, you can view the temperature measured by each individual probe anywhere and at any time from your Periskop application.

How many probes can I have per base station?

One base station can read up to 200 probes and one plant can be equipped with several base stations.

Should the probes be calibrated?

We use digital probes that do not require calibration. This is a considerable advantage over analog probes, which have a significant temperature drift over time. Periskop provides accurate data, all the time.

Which part of the Periskop probe measures the temperature?

The beveled tip of the probe contains the temperature sensor. It allows you to know exactly what is going on in the depths of your windrows, and so prevent smoldering fires.

Compost and green waste

Les sondes de Periskop sont-elles adaptées pour les milieux de fermentation fermés ?

Les sondes Tango XN sont conçues pour fonctionner aussi bien dans un environnement de compostage ouvert que dans du compostage en box et donc fermé.

Can Periskop probes stay in compost permanently?

Yes, our probes are designed and engineered to withstand the most extreme environments for a long time. Enjoy unbeatable performance and durability for five years of heavy use, all being well.
